Carrie Prejean is no longer Miss California USA after she was fired for violating the contract. Miss Prejean was in the news for some time now thanks to her answers during the pageant. Miss Prejean took a stand against gay marriage during the pageant and right after the pageant. According to reports, she was fired from her job due to her same-sex marriage answers and due to revelations that she had posed topless at the age of 17 and she has failed to fulfill the duties expected from her. The pageant’s director said that their decision to fire Carrie was based on the contract violations and her unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California organization.

Pageant owner Donald Trump backed the decision made by the group. Donald Trump said that he talked to Carrie and asked her to get back to work and honor her contract. With Carrie Prejean out of the picture, the first runner up of the pageant Tami Farrell assumes the crown. Right after she lost her crown, she immediately fired back and has released a lengthy statement. In that said letter, she said that she treasured her stay and the opportunity given to her to represent the great state of California.

On that same statement, she said thanks to Donald Trump and his organization. She further added that she had worked in good faith in order to meet her responsibilities as Miss California USA, and added that she had met every scheduled appearance and responsibility as recently as May 31. But though she is no longer part of the organization and she is no longer Miss California, for sure the media and the public’s attention will be on her thanks to her views that made him a hot topic every time.

Fans of American Idol and Kris Allen would be glad to know that the winner will perform at game 2 of the NBA finals that pit Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic. The American Idol winner for season 8 of the show is expected to sing the national anthem, and this time he no longer have to contend with the four judges and the other contestant, Adam Lambert. Game 2 of the best of seven finals between the Lakers and the magic will be shown on ABC and Lakers hold a 1-0 lead.

This is not the first time that the winner of the American Idol was invited to sing at the finals of NBA. By the analysis of some in the industry, the movie by Pixar will drop by around 40 percent. But this kind of drop still makes the movie the top dog this week. And with good marks and positive reviews coming the way of this movie, it will come as no surprise if this movie will hit it big for the second time around. Projections have it that the movie can easily cross the $100 million barrier this week. ‘The Hangover’ debuts this week, and this movie stars Bradley Copper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis. The producers seem to put so much weight and expectations on the movie that it has been reported that a sequel is in the works. The pop queen Madonna was ranked number 3 on the list followed by Beyonce Knowles, Tiger Woods, Bruce Springsteen and Steven Spielberg. The Beatles Rock Band game is here and ready to capture the hearts of its old fans and those new fans that would like to play the guitar with these rock icons. The game was officially introduced through a press conference in Los Angeles and this was attended by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono. The press conference was held in conjunction with the annual E3 video game conference. On that conference, the surviving band members mentioned 10 of the 45 songs that will be included in the game once this song will be released later in the year.

Some of the songs that will be added in the new game include ‘I Saw Her Standing There’, ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’, ‘I Feel Fine’, ‘Taxman’, ‘Day Tripper’, ‘Back in the USSR’, ‘I am the Walrus’, ‘Octopus Garden’, ‘Here Comes the Sun’ and ‘Get Back’. This game that features the biggest band of all time will be available internationally on September 9, 2009 and this release will coincide with the release of the re-mastered version of ‘The Beatles catalogue. This animated and family movie got up with a share of $68.2 million of the box office, and this showing by the movie is considered as the third best opening for the animation company. The figures of this new film from Pixar lag just behind the opening figures submitted by ‘Finding Nemo’ and ‘The Incredibles’. This information was relayed by Disney, which owns Pixar. In perhaps a sweeping statement, box office analyst Paul Dergarabedian says that the partnership between Disney and Pixar can be considered as the closest thing to ‘box office perfection. The ‘Relapse’ album of the singer did a good showing in sales on its fist week as it hit the number one spot. Prior to the arrival of this album in the top slot, Eminem has made some noises and generated some headlines. For example, he took shots at Mariah Carey and he also rapped about Hannah Montana. Thanks to these moves by the singer, this guaranteed that there is attention showered on him and on his current works. On the first week showing of his new album, some observers note that his audience was diminished slightly, but this did not stopped the album from selling. For the first week of its availability in the market, the album has sold 608,000 copies in the United States. This information was shared by the Nielsen Sound Scan. Green Day may be considered by many as one of the biggest rock acts in the country right now, but in Wal-Mart you will not feel the love for the band. Green Day’s latest project is not available on Wal-Mart after the company decided that some of the contents of the CD were not appropriate. The band recently released the successful ‘21st Century Breakdown’ which according to the country’s biggest store chain contains contents and languages that need to be edited.

Wal-Mart does sell CDs from other acts even though their CDs contain explicit or raunchy materials, but they will only do so if the publishers of the said CDs and works have been edited and cleaned for public consumption. For example, Eminem’s latest effort in the market is carried by the store chain after a ‘clean’ version of the CD was released for the public. Green Day did not edit the language and the content on their CD, and one member of the band argued that “there is nothing dirty about our record”. Armstrong, a member of the band added that “they want artists to censor their records in order to be carried there. We just said no. We’ve never done it before. You feel like you’re in 1953 or something”

The snob on the CD of Green Day did not stop the CD to score huge sales in the market. This also did not stop the band from doing their thing. The band is scheduled to kick off its US summer tour in Seattle this July 3, and the CD itself made a statement on top of the charts. The CD is a hit selling hundreds of thousands of copies. This CD is the band’s follow-up effort on the Grammy-winning output the ‘American Idiot.’ For its part, the management of Wal-Mart said that it is their long-standing policy to not stock CDs with the parental advisory sticker.
